What was it about?
Salon Member, Nate, presented The Origins of Islam. Nate dialogued with us on the life of Muhammad, the formation of the Quran, and the importance of Hadith in developing the traditions within the Muslim world. He also provided a comparative study with several beliefs of Christianity, specifically their understanding of Jesus.

Sean and Jessie, owners of Tiki Underground, dialogued on Tiki Culture in 2024 - the business, cocktails, controversy, and fun of mixing it all up.

Salon Member Duke dialogued on Space - The Wonder and The Odyssey. Duke presented a unique multimedia presentation and dialogued with us on some of the weirdest and most beautiful things floating around the universe.

What was it about?
Brad Savage of 91.3 FM presented, Magic In The Air(Waves). Brad discussed an overview of this unique radio station and his role at the helm of the programming of the music/station since moving to Akron in Fall 2015. We also spent time on how radio broadcasting works, music history, record collecting and Brad's self-syndicated DIY radio show “Cruisin’ The Decades - 100 Years of Music,” which he developed at The Summit FM but is now heard on over 40 radio stations around the world!

Greg presented a brief history of beer, the process of how it's made, and the many different styles of this intriguing beverage. Greg also guided us through a selection of four beers to taste, each paired with a small bite, all of which he hand-crafted for this event.

Nate presented on Objectivism and More - The fiction and philosophies of the Russian-born American writer and philosopher, Ayn Rand. A throwback and honoring of the very first "Meeting of the Minds" in March, 2007.
This was also the first Salon to feature our popular "dialogue" format.

What was it about?
Jaysen presented Pale Blue Dot - Discussion of the Voyager 1 photo requested by Carl Sagan and taken on 2/4/1990. As the spacecraft was departing our planetary neighborhood for the fringes of the solar system, it turned around for one last look at its home planet. The resulting haunting image sparked a range of emotion and discussion.

Greg presented Running a Marathon - A marathoner took us on a journey from the earliest days of training, to qualifying for the Boston Marathon, to the pursuit of a sub-three-hour time on the Boston Marathon course.
